Now you can embed videos in an OpenPlans Wiki! [Updated with embedding Instructions}

Embed your favorite videos in an OpenPlans Wiki!

We've received quite a few requests to be able to embed videos in our Wikis. For some of our members, videos make it easier to share their latest projects, for others, it's the main way they further their cause. And let's face it, sharing videos is just plain fun.

I'm pleased to announce that, with the software update we released today, you can now embed videos in OpenPlans Wikis. For now, you'll have to copy and paste the HTML using our HTML editor (located in the grey edit bar).  Specifically:

  1. Find an online video from one of the sites that we support (see below) that you want to embed in your wiki.
  2. Copy the HTML from the site's "Embed" or "Share" box (it will be a few lines long, and the first part looks similar to this):
  3. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yxAs3iDJUoY&hl=en">

  4. Paste that HTML in you Wiki's HTML view.  If you return to the normal editing view after pasting, your video won't appear.  Don't worry, it's still there.
  5. Click "Save," and enjoy watching your newly-embedded video!

Currently, we allow videos from:

  • YouTube
  • Google Video
  • Vimeo.com
  • SlideShare.net
  • Slide.com

If we missed your favorite video sharing site, or if you have a feature request that we currently don't have, please let us know. In the meantime, enjoy a video from another TOPP project, StreetFilms:

Until the next update,
