The Black Stump Working Group is a flag of convenience. We're defined recursively.
Sokar Phillpot
and Horatio Davis are members. If you have been out somewhere beyond the black stump with a member of the Group to hack together an open-source solution to a community's problem, you are also a member (Pia Waugh et al). If there's pre-loved hardware we can set up as a Unix-based solution, we'll try that first, but we'll have a go at anything once, even XOs.
We've done things at
Nhulunbuy
and
Woorabinda
and
Pormpuraaw
.
Sokar is the Group's convenor; contact her if you are in an indigenous, remote, or rural community in Australia and have something that you think might interest us, or if you are proficient with technology and have an idea.
