Developing integrated branding and signage for Brentford town centre
last modified May 22, 2009 by andrewdakers

Improved signage for car parking was a suggestion was made at a meeting of the High Street Traders' Group in February 2006.
The signs - alerting people to the 100 parking spaces in The Butts - have now been designed and installed. Championed by Cllr Harmer, this is the first win of the High Street initiative.
At Albany Parade the visual appearance of A-board’s has been raised as a concern by local residents. The A-boards are of course important to traders as a way of attracting passing trade. The Steering Group has suggested that replacing them with a 'Totem' style sign would improve the visual appearance of the area whilst maintaining the viability of businesses.
Further to discussions that began in 2007, since Autumn 2008 Derek Collett and Cllr Dakers have been liaising closely with Paul Frangi at the Council who is leading work on improved signage for Brentford Town Centre. Paul has completed a full audit of all the parking facilities along Brentford High Street. This should see improved signage for Albany Parade, car park listings at entry points to Brentford and town centre maps.
Funding of £22k (S106 and capital funds) have been secured from the local area committee and a specialist unit from Saatchi has been hired to help develop the High Street brand. See presentation: Draft High Street Branding - 18 May 09
We hope some of this will be installed in the next few months.
