last modified February 28, 2007 by fdimauro
The Pig Picking will be catered by The BBQ Joint on Weaver Dairy Road on Friday March 16 at 6pm. The Pig Picking will be at the Medical Biomolecular Research Building near the class location.
See the Transportation Services page also for issues of vital importance to this event.

The BBQ dinner (which will not technically be a pig picking, but the 'Q is excellent all the same) puts the BBQ in the BBQ sprint. It will be held in the basement lobby of the Medical Biomolecular Research Building.
Chairs and tables will be delivered at 11:00 AM and be signed for by a CCBC Administrator. Rob and a targeted strike team of volunteers will spend the lunch hour of the Friday sprint to set up tables, chairs, and trash cans. This should not take the full lunch hour. There will also be signage posted for bathrooms, exits, phones, etc.
At some point, the Barbecue Joint's catering staff will set up their serving tables.
The BBQ and sides will be ready for human consumption at 6:00 PM. The Rock concert begins at 9:00 PM, so eat fast. The customary post-BBQ snooze is optional.
A keg of local brew will also be available.
Stefan DiMauro (son of Frank) will bartend. He is on spring break that week and is a student at ECU in Greenville, NC. Yes he is over 21 and has bartending experience. (I promised him a tip jar.)
When the bulk of the crowd disperses (the rock concert is within walking distance, even for BBQ and beer gorged participants) Rob will oversee table and chair repacking, trash disposal, and sign teardown. He would love another targeted strike team of volunteers to assist with BBQ teardown. Many hands make light work, as they say.
