We have booked 10 rooms at the Vagabond Inn Sunnyvale as of 4/27/07.
We've worked out a rate of $70/room/night. We will be sharing rooms, unless you personally otherwise notify JoAnna. Roommate sign up here!!
Ammenities include free wifi, free breakfast, outdoor pool, free access to athletic club down the street, near restaurants, and other businesses. Please note: if you are staying somewhere else or would like to stay at the sprint hotel but want your own room, please make sure we know so we don't reserve too many rooms.
Travel
There are two airports near by: The San Francisco Airport (SFO) and the San Jose Airport (SJC). For those flying in, please add your ((arrival)) time/date!
The San Jose airport will be closer to where we are staying, but the San Francisco airport is usually cheaper to fly into and has more flights. There is good public transit from both airports. If you're planning on coming up to San Francisco for the post-sprint social weekend, you'll definitely want to fly into SF.
Public transportation info from SFO can he found here. The Caltrain looks to be the best bet ($6) for getting from the SFO airport. Cabs from SFO could cost $45 or more.
Public transportation info from SJC can be found here. The Caltrain looks to be the best bet here too but it will be a shorter ride. Cabs from SJC will start at $19.
Traveling between Googleplex and the hotel is being researched and will be posted here eventually. We hope to rent vans- If you are willing to drive, contact JoAnna or Donna!!

Friday June 29 - Social night in San Francisco. We'll figure out something fun to do in the city. There's easy transportation into SF. Joel is finding sofas/floors where sprinters can crash [so far, Joel and Limi have offered floor/sofa space. If you live in SF, please consider doing so!]. Please let Joel know in advance (joel@joelburton.com) if you'd like to come to this and need a place to crash.
Saturday, June 30 - Brunch in San Francisco + Play Day in the City. There's easy transportation to SFO (and you can catch Caltrain to get to San Jose airport, but you don't *really* want to fly into/out of San Jose, do you? ;) ). If you need a place to stay Saturday night, let Joel know, and he'll try to find a place you can crash.
ideas for theme nights:
pool party night w/ bbq and swimming
karaoke and sushi night
golf night with glow in the dark golf balls and cheap golf cart beer
there will be a shopping night 'cause J wants new shoes!
