Nate explained the marketing plan put together by Mark Corum and Gabrielle Hendryx-Parker is actually not ready for review/discussion and is still under development. We may be ready to discuss at the next conference call.

1) Report on NTEN
  - Took place at the Marriott downtown San Francisco
  - 40/50 exhibitors
  - Plone had a 10 x 10 booth with 5 representatives
  - the Plone booth received a lot of interest
  - 40 "Top 15 Questions About Plone" brochures were given away (ran out half through the event)
  - 1 big vinyl Plone banner
  - we need to promote plone.net more
  - screencast on integrating Plone with Salesforce.com needs to be revised
  - we need to be able to show demos to more than one person at a time
  - See Nate's report at http://n2.nabble.com/report-of-the-Plone-Foundation-booth-at-NTEN-NTC-conference-in-San-Francisco-tp2745585p2745585.html

 2) Reports on WPD

 * By Jordan:
  - mix of government, non-profit organization
  - 50 attendants just like last year (half from previous year, half new)
  - All "Top 15 Questions About Plone" brochures were taken

  * By Nate:
  - 30 people registered, 25 showed up (6/7 people from last year)
  - Harvard tech group attended (influencer)
  - Gave away stickers, "Top 15 Questions About Plone" brochures
-> good community-building event -> local users groups to benefit from this

Suggestion: create survey to gather feedback from various WPD champions and issue press release.

 3) Plone Awards
  * The group went over the proposed plan. No questions or comments.
  * Will discuss it some more at the next call prior to submission to the Board

 4) Upcoming conferences where Plone will/should be represented:

  * Instead of having ad-hoc responses to events announced at the last minute, Nate recommended putting together a list of annual events we want to be at, and put together a budget for that.
  * Nate recommended we be at CMS Expo in Chicago (April/May), Open Source Bridge (June), EuroPython (June/July), OpenSourceWorld (Aug) each year. Follow other major open source projects.
  * Gabrielle said the upcoming Marketing Plan would include a longer list of events, along with a timeline and a budget.

 5) Logo usage guidelines

Mark and Gabrielle may have an update on the logo guidelines by the next mkt confcall (depending on progress made on the marketing plan).

 6) Logistics:
  * Discussed changing mkt call day/time to accommodate Karl and Nate
  * Discussed changing the format of the call to something more action-oriented and less report-based
  * Gabrielle suggested we met on Fridays during the Tune-Ups
  * Chris/Nate suggested we actually worked on advancing Plone mkt efforts during the Tune-Ups
  * Gabrielle suggested having a call to coordinate the work to be done at the Tune-Up a few days prior to the event

 7) Events where Plone should be represented at

Jordan to update the Google calendar to post new events for Plone. Nate to give Jordan and Gabrielle access to it. Events to be entered as recurring events to make sure they get automatically reported to the next year.

NEXT: The next mkt call will be held on 5/13 at 12pm ET to prepare for the 5/15 Plone Tune-Up
