Roadmap / Topics

Main topics are Mosaic and Rapido

  • Mosaic: build example page layouts for general use
  • Mosaic: provide tile to include existing images from Plone instead of uploading a new one from the local hard-drive #241
  • Mosaic: Roadmap to core. Plan how to make tiles, blocks and finally mosaic part of Plone core. Do it step by step and not as one big gulp. What is needed to make all of Plone blocks/layout based? Consistency over BBB?  [jensens]
  • Mosaic: see issues here: https://github.com/plone/plone.app.mosaic/milestones/Mephisto%20Sprint%202016
  • Rapido & Mosaic: hard to customise listings - https://github.com/plone/plone.app.mosaic/issues/239
  • Mosaic - drag a tile into a rchtext tile to create an "inline tile" (using tinymce noneditable mode) - https://github.com/plone/plone.app.mosaic/issues/239. similar to c.tinymcetiles. (also see uwosh.snippets which does something similar with normal Plone pages)
  • collective.safeimports - https://github.com/plomino/rapido.core/issues/10 - a collective way to import useful things from the stdlib + others
  • Rapido - allow import from one .py to another - https://github.com/plomino/rapido.core/issues/3
  • Rapido -  https://github.com/plomino/rapido.plone/issues/9 (make rapido the main way to use zpt and py to make a custom tile replacing themefragments)
    • ability to create first class tiles using rapido
    • ability to create display views using rapido
    • ability to override a view template using rapido (without Diazo hack)
  • Rapido - TTW pdb - https://github.com/plomino/rapido.core/issues/19
  • Rapido - provide some testing utilities - https://github.com/plomino/rapido.core/issues/2
  • Plomino - Helpers (common actions/validations without writing code) - https://github.com/plomino/Plomino/issues/618

Located in Leipzig, the fascinating city in the heart of Germany

    leipzig_panorama_coactivate_1160.jpg

Leipzig, known as the city of trading and fairs, is a vibrant and innovative city with great love for its traditions. The charming city with its beautiful architecture and the multitude of historical sights & monuments like Thomaskirche, Nikolaikirche, Hauptbahnhof (main railway station), Altes und Neues Rathaus (Old and new townhall), Gewandhaus and Opera house leaves a deep impression. Explore Leipzig, Venice of the east, by boat. Walk through the lovely historic centre. Relax at the lakeside or in one of the many bars and cafés Leipzig has to offer. For one of them, the “Auerbach’s Cellar”, Goethe wrote the scene about Faust and Mephisto, the literary memorial to his student town.

Checkout this video to get an idea what you can do in Leipzig, beside coding;)

    Sprint Location

The location is a nice co working space in the west of Leipzig. In the same building is also a nice and cheap hostel where people can stay. Behind the building is a big garden we can use if the weather is good. If the weather allows it we will also have a barbecue at least once during the week.

    location on google maps

    voelkerschlachtdenkmal_500.jpgTraveling

Leipzig has very well flight and train connections. You can search for flights directly to Leipzig airport (LEJ) or for flights to Berlin and go by train to Leipzig (it takes only 1,5h from the Berlin airports and it is probably faster if you can find direct flight to Berlin).

    Attendees

By now we have space for about 15-20 people, if we see more people are interested in coming to the sprint, we will try to get more space.
