Add an audio file

  1. Go to your member folder
  2. Choose File from the add new item menu
  3. Browse for an MP3 or Ogg file on your local harddrive and click submit (no need to enter a Title)

Add video file

  1. Go to your member folder
  2. Choose File from the add new item menu
  3. Browse for Quicktime, Windows Media or Real video file on your local harddrive and click submit (no need to enter a Title)

Add an embedded video

  1. Go to your member folder
  2. Choose Link from the add new item menu
  3. Paste in the full URL from a Youtube, Google Video, Blip.tv, or direct link to an .mpg, .mov or other video file hosted elsewhere on the net.
  4. Choose Activate Video Link from the actions menu

Assign a Creative Commons license

  1. While viewing the audio file, click on the Properties tab
  2. Choose a Creative Commons license from the Copyright field

Create an audio listing or podcast from a Folder

  1. Go to your member folder
  2. Choose Folder from the add new item menu
  3. Add some audio files to this folder
  4. Choose Activate Audio from the actions menu

Create an audio listing / podcast from a Smart Folder

  1. Go to your member folder
  2. Choose Smart Folder from the add new item menu
  3. Fill out the edit form and click Save
  4. Click on the Criteria tab and add a new criterion Item Type = File
  5. Choose Activate Audio from the actions menu

Create a calendar from a Folder

  1. Go to your member folder
  2. Choose Folder from the add new item menu
  3. Add some events to this folder (choose Event from add new item menu)
  4. Choose Activate Calendar from the actions menu
  5. Choose a view (Month, Event listing, Event archive) from the display menu

Create a calendar from a Smart Folder

  1. Go to your member folder
  2. Choose Smart Folder from the add new item menu
  3. Fill out the edit form and click Save
  4. Click on the Criteria tab and add a new criterion Item Type = Event
  5. Choose Activate Calendar from the actions menu
  6. Choose a view (Month, Event listing, Event archive) from the display menu


Publish your iCal calendar to Plone

  1. Copy the URL of your member folder (i.e. http://plone4artists.com/Members/nateaune)
  2. Using Apple iCal, choose Publish... from the Calendar menu
  3. Choose a Private server from the Publish on menu
  4. Paste in the URL into the Base URL field
  5. Type in your plone4artists.com username and password and click Publish
  6. Go to your member folder and you will see your folderish calendar containing all the events.
