  • custom lookup for CreateLink and InsterImage

from simon on Apr 14, 2009 09:04 AM
    hi all

i integrated xinha into yanel (open source cms http://www.yanel.org/).
yanel provied a lookup to browse images and files within the cms. this
lookup is integrated with other editors integrated in yanel (tinyMCE).
the integratin is done very simple, by providing a button next to the
URL resp. Image URL input-field. allowing to call any lookup and wich
would pass a value back to the URL resp. Image URL input-field.

i'm very new to xinha, but so far very impressed. thanks for the great work!

google and the documentation was not helping me to find out about
    following:
    - is there a way to customize/over ride xinha modules?
    - or do i have to write a plugin?

any hint is very much appreciated.
    thanks

    simon

Is there a demo page somwhere where we can look at how it currently
works with TinyMCE? That might give us a better idea as to how would
    be best to proceed.

        sorry it took a while.
        go to
        http://demo.yanel.org/de/index.html?yanel.toolbar=on
login with username: lenya and password:levi

        then on
        http://demo.yanel.org/usecases/tinymce.html?edit-path=/de/index.html
        you will see tinyMCE.

        if you insert a link/image you'll get this pop-up
        http://demo.yanel.org/yanel/resource-types/http://www.wyona.org/yanel/resource/1.0::tinymce/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/themes/advanced/image.htm

        which is provided by tinyMCE.
next to the URL field there is a button to call a custom lookup as
        described here:
        http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/TinyMCE:Custom_filebrowser

        thanks for spending your time.

This is the first mail I've had from the Xinha list for ages! Is there a
          problem with the system? :(

I'll try to take a look at it later. If I don't get to it today, I'm
sorry but I'm in the middle of trying to merge some work into trunk,
and I should get to it by Monday...

Okay, now I have an idea of what you're trying to do. In this case,
you don't want to use the ImageManager or ExtendedFileManager, but
will want to edit the built-in image insertion dialog. Take a look at
          dialog.html and insert_image.html in modules/InsertImage. That should
allow you to do what you want...
