  • Sustainable regeneration: To ensure Ballymore's regeneration scheme for Brentford town centre remains true to the Community Vision, Brentford Area Action Plan (BAAP) and Princes Foundation reports BHSSG have developed an innovative Regeneration Scorecard .  We published this assessment for the first time in late November 2011, and will probably repeat the exercise twice in 2012.
  • Fair rents and rates for traders: Rents and rates investigation -- and proposals for a new approach.  We hope to see a report (long delayed) go to local area committee on the Council's approach to rent setting in early 2012.
  • Improved marketing of High Street
  • Improved signage for parking : Great strides have been made in 2010/11 and we are now working on the finishing touches with Town Centre Manager Patricia Huertas
  • Conservation area extension
  • Widening the pavement on the south side of High Street in the town centre
  • Sustainable town centre management: The present TCM post is funded for three years; and Brentford High Street Steering Group is a regeneration and sustainable development charity.  What happens when the funding runs out and/or the regeneration is achieved?  We believe the long term solution may be a Business Improvement District (BID) and are encouraging a number of key stakeholders to test the idea further with a feasibility study.
